Cream Cheese - Softened regular cream cheese or low-fat cream cheese can be used

Butter - The butter needs to be softened so that it can be properly creamed together with the sugars in the recipe

Lime - Zest and Key Lime juice. Key lime is sweeter than regular lime, perfect for frosting!

Sugar - Powdered sugar, also called confectioners' sugar

How to Make Key Lime Cream Cheese Frosting?

In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.

Next beat in lime zest and lime juice.

Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly and scraping down the sides of the bowl with a spatula after each cup.

Beat until smooth.

If it seems too thin add a little bit more powdered sugar, one teaspoon at a time. If too thick, add lime juice one teaspoon at a time.
